Highlights of Eastern Canada
Percé
At the easternmost point of the Gaspé Peninsula lies the fishing town of Percé. Today it is a tourist town with many fun events especially in the summer. For example, you can enjoy a summer theater with various performances. The most famous attraction of the place is Percé Rock, a large rock formation on the coast. You can take different boat trips from the port and enjoy all the beautiful nature around the peninsula. In the evening, taste one of the delicious local seafood dishes prepared with love!
Quebec
This vibrant city is really worth a visit when you take an RV tour of Eastern Canada. Allow at least a day for this as it is fun to explore the city on foot. Stroll through the pleasant streets and past the impressive Notre Dame Basilica and the National Assemby. You can also find parks in the city, and since the city is on a hill, you can get a beautiful view of the city from here on a beautiful summer evening. In the old part of the city, visit Château Frontenac, this beautifully colored hotel is on UNESCO's World Heritage List. By the way, the old part of Quebec has more beautiful old houses and buildings and cozy restaurants.
Parc de la Gaspesie
Visit the beautiful Parc de la Gaspesie is also located on the Gaspé Peninsula. In the park you will find many wild animals such as the famous moose, caribou and many deer. There are many hiking trails of varying lengths. There are many places where there are beautiful views of the surroundings. The park is a perfect stop for when you are driving toward Percé.
Montreal
The popular city of Montreal offers a mix of cultural and historical attractions. Take a look at the imposing Notre Dame Basilica; its Gothic architecture remains impressive. At the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts you will find special exhibits with different themes, a fun sight to see. Take a walk in the Montreal Botanical Gardens or wander up to Mount Royal and visit St. Joseph's Oratory where you will also have a beautiful view of the city.
Tadoussac
Located on the St. Lawrence River, this town is a popular spot because whale watching can be done here. In the Saguenay Fjord you can book a boat trip with one of the many shipping companies where you sail to the places where most whales come. You can also take lovely walks along the coast and sometimes you can see whales from the shore. The center of Tadoussac is an old French settlement and is a lovely place to stay. By the way, by ferry you can cross the Saguenay River and thus you can go to several national parks.
