Routes along the West Coast of Australia

Visit the giant beach at Cable Beach where you can take a beach walk by camel.

Perth
Discover the vibrant city on the west coast where many culinary and music festivals are held.
Perth has several parks, of which Kings Park is one of the most famous. You will see a mix of modern and historic buildings and many restaurants and pubs. Visit the Perth Zoo, which features circo 230 species of native and exotic animals. In Fremantle Harbor, relax and look past the many antique stores, art galleries and museums, or enjoy a drink at one of the many outdoor cafes.
Rottnest Island
Off the coast of Perth, an hour away by ferry is Rottnest Island. Rent a bike here and explore the beautiful island via one of the many trails and have your picture taken with the very tame quokka marsupial. The island is a protected nature reserve and has beautiful vantage points which in turn will provide great photos.
Nambung National Park
In this national park you can admire the extraordinary Pinnacles, which are thousand million year old limestone pillars protruding from the sand. In the park you can also enjoy the other flora and fauna such as dolphins and sea lions. The park is located on the beach so there is also the possibility of swimming.
Kalbarri National park
Kalbarri National Parl is about a 15-minute drive from the city of Kalbarri. In the park there are opportunities to follow several hiking trails with viewpoints that give you the most breathtaking views. The highlight, then, is Natures Window, what the name suggests, a view across the landscape of one of nature's wonders.
Shark Bay
This bay is home to 5 species of endangered animals, 4 of which are found nowhere else in the world. Shark Bay has an extensive seagrass area with the largest manatee population in the world. You can also see stromatolites, which are limestone fossils, at Hamelin Pool.
Exmouth
The harbor town of Exmouth is located on the east side of the Noth West Peninsula. From the harbor you can take a boat quickly to the Ningaloo reef where you can do some great diving and snorkeling. Next to Exmouth is the Cape Range National park where jagged rocks and gorges can be seen and give you spectacular views of the ocean.
Coral Bay
The small village of Coral Bay is located in the dunes and is very popular for the migration of famous whale shark, which swims around here from April to June. You do not have to go far into the sea to discover the beautiful underwater world, the coral and fish of the reef live close to the beach. Several day trips are offered where you can go on the reef by boat and also explore the underwater world by glass-bottom boat.
Karijini National Park
The Karijini is considered one of the most spectacular parks in Western Australia. Deep gorges have been carved and dramatic waterfalls cascade down. The area lends itself perfectly to a hike or a splash in one of the many waterholes. At the junction of four gorges is a beautiful vantage point that provides a view over the endless horizon.
Broome
The pearl-fishing town of the west coast, Broome has snow-white beaches, tuquoise waters and a pleasant climate. Broome has a rich history and offers a nice change from the Australian Outback. 5 km away is Cable Beach, a 22 km long beach where the telegraph cable connected Australia with England. Here also visit the so-called "Staircase to the Moon," a silvery illusion created by a rising moon in the tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. In Broome, this is celebrated with live music and lively markets on Town Beach.
Margaret River
The vineyards of Margaret River are one of Australia's most beautiful and popular. They are located in the coastal area between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. The beautiful hills and impressive karri forests provide the most beautiful views. In this coastal strip you will also find beautiful stalactite caves like Jewel Cave and the strange rock formations like Moses Rock. Beyond the coastal strip, which belongs to the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park, you will find rolling hills, quiet villages, vineyards and forests.
